The Sandman Clock SND-01 features an internal non-user-accessible rechargeable backup battery. In the event that the power goes out, the display will turn off but the time and alarms will keep. When power is restored the Sandman will come back on with the correct time and your alarms still intact. Currently, the alarm sound will not trigger without power, so we recommend you use your smartphone for critical alarms.
